Traccia Small Table

The Cassina Traccia Small Table, originally envisioned by Swiss artist Meret Oppenheim in 1939, is an iconic piece that blurs the line between art and function. Part of Dino Gavina’s 1971 Ultramobile collection, which introduced “functional artworks” into the world of furniture, this table challenges conventional design by infusing everyday objects with surrealist charm. Known as the “Bird Leg Table,” Traccia features slender, polished cast bronze legs that culminate in taloned feet — a nod to classical claw-foot furniture yet with a modern twist. The table’s delicate proportions and imaginative design invite curiosity, embodying the fusion of geometric precision with artistic whimsy. Cassina’s reissue of the Traccia Small Table remains true to Oppenheim’s original, offering a timeless piece that brings a touch of surreal elegance to contemporary spaces, whether as a functional table or a statement art object.
