DESCRIPTION
The heroine doesn’t flee from battle nor fear surrender, but accepts that the bitterness of defeat becomes sweeter by proudly facing a stronger opponent.
She assimilates the lessons of strategy and the opponent’s tactics in preparation for the next encounter.
With an effervescent rush of champagne, Checkmate launches into action in a brilliant sparkle of hope. Juicy and seductive fruits and flowers follow, drawing on their reserves of willpower.
In the final moments, one experiences the bliss of surrender, enveloped in an intoxicating blend of tobacco and bourbon.
The memory of the battle fades as the earth cradles you with powerful and robust hints of soil, musk, and patchouli.
You are defeated and victorious at the same time, completely at peace, fully yielding to the irresistible thrill of conquest.
PERFUMER
David Apel: “Tobacco has such a complex and compelling fragrance. A wisp of smoke carries with it an earthy humidity, a creamy sweetness, and a clear haze of smokiness. Checkmate captures this experience, built in a sophisticated way.”
