Birdie´s Nest Ceiling Lamp

The Birdie’s Nest Ceiling Lamp by Ingo Maurer transforms light into a poetic spectacle, bringing the designer’s iconic winged light bulbs together in an enchanting composition inspired by a flock of birds in flight. Originally introduced in 2005 and later reinterpreted with LED technology, Birdie’s Nest is a celebration of creativity, movement, and imagination.

Designed specifically for spaces with lower ceiling heights, the fixture features ten winged LED light bulbs mounted on flexible tinned copper rods with transparent cables. The illuminated elements appear to emerge from a central canopy like birds leaving their nest, creating a dynamic and sculptural presence that extends beyond traditional lighting design.

A defining characteristic of Birdie’s Nest is its adaptability. The rods can be bent, stretched, and positioned individually, allowing users to shape the final arrangement according to their space and aesthetic preferences. This interactive approach makes every installation unique, turning the owner into a co-designer of the piece.

Each LED bulb is fitted with delicate goose-feather wings, a signature motif that has become synonymous with Ingo Maurer’s work and contributed to his reputation as the “poet of light.” The warm illumination and floating composition create an atmosphere that feels both playful and sophisticated, making Birdie’s Nest an unforgettable focal point in residential and hospitality interiors alike.

Combining artistic expression, handcrafted details, and innovative lighting technology, Birdie’s Nest is much more than a ceiling lamp. It is a luminous installation that transforms any room into a space filled with character, movement, and wonder.
