A captivating piece of history, bringing the romantic allure of a forgotten Italian garden into your home. This fascinating architectural fragment dates back to the early 1900s. Crafted from solid cast stone or antique decorative concrete, it features the beautifully sculpted faces of two winged cherubs (putti) emerging from a central block. Originally designed as a structural corbel, a keystone, or perhaps part of a monumental wall fountain, the piece shows a roughly hewn back and a top cavity, revealing its past life as an integral part of a grand villa’s architecture. The beautifully weathered surface, complete with a natural patina and subtle traces of moss, speaks volumes of its decades spent outdoors. Today, it serves as a striking sculptural object, perfect for adding a touch of classical melancholy and authentic texture to a bookshelf, a console table, or an indoor garden arrangement.
