The Fontana Arte Bilia Table Lamp Mini, designed by the legendary Gio Ponti, is a timeless piece of design that epitomizes simplicity and elegance. First created in 1932, this iconic lamp is a masterful composition of basic geometric forms—an almost impossibly balanced sphere perched on a cone base. This striking balance of shapes is one of Ponti’s most memorable design feats, resulting in a beautifully proportioned object that is at once understated and visually impactful.
The lamp’s minimalistic design is enhanced by the use of non-reflective materials, allowing the form to speak for itself without distractions. The diffused light emanates softly from the sphere, making it a versatile lighting solution for various interior settings. Originally conceived as a standard-sized lamp, Bilia now comes in this Mini version, which introduces an array of vibrant “spray colours,” as imagined by Ponti in his original design notes.
The Bilia Table Lamp Mini is available in a stunning selection of chromatic variations, each adding a modern twist to Ponti’s classic design while maintaining the lamp’s timeless aesthetic. This combination of color options and geometric purity makes it not only a functional light source but also a piece of art that enriches any space with its presence.
