The D.859.1 Table by Molteni & C, designed by the legendary Giò Ponti, is a masterful blend of functionality and refined aesthetics. Originally conceived as a meeting table, this impressive piece stretches over 3.60 meters in length, making it ideal for accommodating up to ten people. Its sheer size is complemented by an elegant, minimalist design that exudes sophistication and modernity.
The table’s standout feature is its trapezoidal single-span bridge legs, which provide both stability and an aerodynamic feel. These finely crafted legs seamlessly support the large, tapered wooden top, creating a visual lightness despite its substantial dimensions. The D.859.1 is a true representation of Ponti’s ability to merge practicality with an artistic flair, making it not just a functional table, but a statement piece.
