Birds, Birds, Birds Hanging Lamp

The Birds Birds Birds Hanging Lamp is one of the most poetic and instantly recognizable creations from Ingo Maurer. Originally conceived in 1992 and later updated with LED technology, this extraordinary chandelier was the first lighting design to feature the designer’s now iconic winged light bulbs, transforming a functional object into a dreamlike composition suspended in space.

Crafted from metal and equipped with 24 individually adjustable LED light bulbs, each adorned with delicate goose-feather wings, Birds Birds Birds evokes the image of a flock of luminous birds in flight. The result is a striking balance between lightness, movement, and artistry that brings a sense of wonder to any interior.

A defining characteristic of the design is its flexibility. The adjustable arms and movable light sources allow users to shape the chandelier’s composition, creating a unique installation tailored to the surrounding space. This interactive approach reflects Ingo Maurer’s belief that lighting should inspire creativity and establish a dialogue with its environment.

Both sculptural and functional, Birds Birds Birds emits a warm, welcoming light while serving as a dramatic centerpiece. Whether installed above a dining table, in a double-height living room, a hospitality setting, or a design-focused commercial space, it creates a powerful visual statement that transcends conventional lighting.

Combining craftsmanship, innovation, and imagination, Birds Birds Birds perfectly embodies the visionary spirit of Ingo Maurer, often referred to as the “poet of light.” Its ethereal appearance and unforgettable silhouette have established it as a true icon of contemporary lighting design.
