The Bhusanam Table Lamp expresses the deep and experimental relationship between Ettore Sottsass and the medium of glass, a dialogue that began in the post-war years and evolved, by the 1970s, into a bold and avant-garde design language.
During this period, Sottsass explored the expressive potential of basic geometric forms, assembling cylinders, spheres, and prisms into complex, architectural compositions. Bright, contrasting colours animate the structure, reflecting the same conceptual intensity that defined his architectural projects.
Bhusanam embodies this vision: a sculptural object where light, colour, and geometry converge. More than a lamp, it is a luminous totem, an interplay of balance and tension that transforms space through its presence.
