A perfect study in the beauty of decay and authentic rustic charm. This delightful pair of antique terracotta cachepots hails from Central Italy, dating back to the early 20th century. Characterized by a squat, bulbous form resting on a subtle footed base, they were originally finished with a thick, creamy white glaze. Over a century of use and exposure has caused this glaze to flake and wear beautifully around the midsection, revealing the warm, earthy terracotta beneath in a striking, organic pattern. A subtle, dark painted band encircles the pots, adding a touch of simple, traditional detail. These deeply textured, wabi-sabi vessels are perfect for bringing a touch of authentic Italian countryside history to a windowsill, a mantlepiece, or as rustic planters for small succulents or herbs.
