Antique Lopsided Piedmontese Terracotta Confit Pot (Early 20th Century)

Embrace the beauty of imperfection with this authentic piece of Italian rural history. This small, charmingly lopsided terracotta pot hails from the Piedmont region in Italy, dating back to the early 1900s. Originally crafted as a robust, utilitarian vessel for preserving food in country pantries, it features a thick, dark brown-to-black glaze typical of the area’s rustic pottery. What makes this piece truly special is its delightfully asymmetrical, organic shape—a hallmark of entirely hand-thrown, artisanal production. The sturdy twin handles and heavy rolled rim add to its robust farmhouse character. Today, it stands as a perfect wabi-sabi accent piece, ideal for holding wooden utensils in a country kitchen or displaying a casual, sculptural arrangement of dried branches.
