Luchino Armchair

The Luchino folding armchair boasts a lineage stretching back over a thousand years. Originally conceived as a portable field seat, it later rose to iconic prominence as the director’s chair, celebrated for its effortless portability across bustling film sets. It is precisely these legendary attributes, comfort, lightness, and ease of transport, that inspired Antonio Citterio and Flexform to reimagine the classic design in the form of the Luchino armchair. Expertly crafted from solid wood that is hand-turned and meticulously finished, the Luchino armchair features a seat and backrest in premium cowhide. Available in both dining and lounge versions, it showcases sophisticated joinery that allows for effortless folding and transport, without compromising structural integrity. What may appear minimal at first glance soon reveals a masterclass in craftsmanship: from the precision woodwork to the finely engineered metal components that govern its folding mechanism, every detail underscores a commitment to quality and design excellence. A seamless fusion of elegance and functionality, the Luchino dining chair pairs beautifully with any table from the Flexform collection, while the lounge version integrates effortlessly into any interior, whether standing alone or alongside Flexform’s iconic sofas.
